Where is a good source for getting leather for leather covered pads and also what kind of leather do you use?

Jim:
You can also try resale shops. Look for women's handbags or leather trim clothing with thin leather bits. If your lucky you can get a large supply for pennies -- as long as your not self-conscious at the checkout. Ahh... just tell 'em Joe Biden said it was OK.

Gnomon, I am in need of just that leather. Please if you have names and address could you PM me. I apprenticed as a Library Bookbinder in my youth. I have several projects that need finishing up for friends and family. Tandy leather is not quite the quality I desire for this project. Thank you.

Dennis, I use Falkiner fine paper for all my supplies but unfortunately they are located on Southampton Row in Bloomsbury, London.

Talas in New York also carries quality items but about 30 years ago they pissed me off mega so I stopped using them.

My experience is that one should examine hides in person regardless of source.
