Me thinks the EES in a Heart was the mark of Emil Eckoldt, who hung out his gunmakers shingle in 1876. Later one sees the encircled ECKO more than likely being the mark of Hugo Eckoldt as below.


Yes, it does have Simson triangles and info sort of points to Edgar Strempel having a hoard of Simson components.




And as per this 1951 example, trading didn't cease in 1945.
