Chuck: in terms of this stock bending, do you plan on using the 'hot oil' method or use infrared heat? Is one method better than the other? I have had several French walnut stocks bent utilizing the infrared light without any problems. Only one sprung back requiring a rebend. I have two Model 21's I would like to have tweaked a little but frankly I haven't had the guts to have it done for fear of breaking the original stocks....I have been warned that black walnut breaks fairly easy and is not as amenable to bending as the French. Any opinion on this issue?

Buzz,
I'm not experienced with bending. But the method I was shown uses IR lamps rags and oil.

I finished making the jacking frame components a few minutes ago. They need welding, which my friend will do tomorrow while I push some paper. The rest is small dog clamps, some jackscrews with pads and knobs.
