If you are looking for someone in the Northeast, Mitch Schultz in CT (who does outside work for CSMC) or NECG in NH are other options.

Thanks Doverham, I have used Mitch for years now on several projects.Some came out great some not so much.His cold bluing is great and is priced right but I just don't feel real good about him doing this type of work.We discussed the stock issue and he suggested modifying the comb and I really don't want to go there.

Just remember a 1/4" at the butt is just a fraction of that at the front of the comb or even at the point your message cheek contacts the comb. But I knew you for knew that.

Yup, in my opinion, drop at heel is the most overrated and inconsequential dimension on a stock. To get a 1/4" change at the face, a 28 gauge Repro stock would be in danger of breaking. I would spend my money shaving the comb and refinishing the whole stock and forend in oil. More money but a safer and more attractive result. Good luck, Dave.

Just my opinion, but from what I've seen done and the fact than the 28g stock is thin in the wrist, I'd say it's likely be bent quite a bit more than a thick wristed stock.

I have had pretty good luck by adding length to the LOP. As long as it is not a parallel comb (or, shudder, Monte Carlo) you will get more effective drop by doing this because your cheek moves rearward on the comb when LOP is lengthened.

This is easy for me to say, however, as most buttstocks are not long enough for me anyway. Won't work, obviously, if the LOP is already as long as you can stand it.

You can try this for yourself just by mounting the gun in question, then pushing it slightly forward off your shoulder while keeping your cheek on the comb. You can easily see the effective drop increase as your eye goes down in relation to the rib.

The problem with adding length to a Parker Repro is that they have a skeleton butt. Easy to do, and not much harm done, when you can just add a pad. But the skeleton butt makes it more problematic. Of course if it's too short to start with, then you need to do something anyhow.

I'm good on LOP of my Repro. I just need more drop. I'm going to work on that stock bending fixture today and see if I can get it working for this gun.

I haven't had much need for stock bending over the years, but it seems to crop up once in a while.
