Curmudgeon! Umm that's a new one, wife will like that, she thinks I'm a miserable old bugger. But life's funny isn't it? I never saw any cowboys in New York, nor Indians, when I come to think about it. If you didn't see any Indians, you didn't ride in enough taxis.

Larry do you mean Native Americans or those buggers that own all our corner shops?
Bill, please excuse me, I'm not really a curmudgeon, I'm really Jack the Lad. But it really grabs peoples attention if you hit them hard in the soft spot.

Gentlemen - thank you all for your insight. My sense of things before my son's visit, was that the only guns I ever saw from Scotland were, selling for around $100,000. I was hopeful he could step into a shop and find that there were more affordable pieces. I also had some understanding that there was greater government control than what we had here in the states, but did not know the details. Glad to hear that firearms are available and hunting and gun sports are alive and well in Scotland. Beautiful countryside was enjoyed and ancestry information from the mid 1800's obtained with the help of locals. Hopefully one day I'll be able to visit for myself. Regards, Bill

wburns, Thank you for your kind offer, but for now I will stick with American made I am having enough trouble learning about them! All I know about the other side of the pond is from occasional glances in Double Gun. Also I am way too common to spend 90k on a gun.
