gil hit the nail on the head. I see a lot of guys with the magnetic holders at my gun club and they use them with great success. But I know one guy who used one while out hunting and his dog ran by and knocked it over on a rock and put a dent in it. I'm like gil. I lay mine on the roof of the car when I prepare to trap shoot because the hood of my cars are slanted and I'm afraid they will slide off. If I'm hunting, I leave it in the trunk until I'm ready to hunt. But don't feel too bad, pete. One guy on here a few years ago was giving out the serial number of a Model 21 that he lost in the woods in the hopes of some day finding it. He leaned it against the truck or leaned it against a tree (or someplace) and then drove off and lost it. By the time he got back it was gone.
