So ... enjoy those slower velocity light loads at low gun skeet or sporting, learn the increased leads necessary for target breaks on the second shot at skeet doubles and those far out sporty clays presentations or even use them for some bunker and then see how much better shot you have become in the field next season. You might surprise yourself. Its a matter of whether you wish to become a better field shot or a better competitor. For the former, light moderate velocity loads are the hot ticket on clays. Finis.

Pre-mounted guns or 'any mount' does not teach good gun handling. Shooting fast hard recoiling target ammo does not teach the need to focus entirely on the bird's path & speed and how hard to 'drive' the gun to hit it. Practice snap shooting clays with moderate light loads CAN add immeasurably to improving the bag cleanly taken, IMHO. YMMV, but don't knock it until you've tried it ... and remember that you are only shooting against yourself. If that's not reason enough, doit for the dog;-)

Spring is officially here for the northern hemisphere as of two days back. Use the clay target season as a means of becoming more proficient in the field, if you are a bird hunter.

Tournament shooting is a dif horse. Just some thots, as WtS oft says. Best to the board and that's in the whole. tw
