I would stay in the 7,000 psi range, with a velocity around 1050 fps.

If this is just a hypothetical question, I am taking it as a vintage gun. Since you don't know the barrels wall thickness, and you say a .002 ring bulge (1/2 the thickness of a sheet of paper, I stated to use low pressure, low velocity shells just to be fair to the gun. Being that close to the chokes is no threat as the metal there is usually a little thicker, and as I stated earlier, I would do nothing with it if it were just .002.

Thank you David. Never assume. It is not a vintage gun, it was purchased new in 1996. The MWT is > .030 and it was proofed @ 1200 bar with its 3" chambers.
