Hi, A friend of mine recently purchased an old JP Sauer shotgun.
I am cleaning it up for him. The serial # is 190803 I would like to find the production date.Where can I find this information?

Dave a chart in a series in DGJ says around 1912. The article warns that dates can vary because of the way Sauer assigned serial #. The articles were by Jeff Stephens in 2004.

Jim A., Thanks for the reply.I had it narrowed down to 1891-1913 by useing the proof marks.
