I was aware of how the rear base "locked" the ring but had never given a thought to an objective bell not allowing the scope to pivot. Thanks to both of you for that little tidbit that will no doubt save some angst!!!!!! Thanks to a member on this board we're hot on the trail of a set of rings.
Yesterday I took my flint Jaeger out for some "rock killin'" and surprisngly the sights were quite clear with my glasses. I didn't shoot too bad!!!.....something I'm grateful for at the youthful age of 59!!!
