Given that this shotgun was proved in Leige, Belgium it is highly likely that it was a mass produced "El Cheapo" double shotgun using the name of a well known English gunmaker to lure the innocent into thinking they had a top quality gun. Similar knock offs were made in Italy and Spain as well.
Unscrupulous makers and dealers were rife in the last three decades of the 1800's. The pictures (even allowing for lack of maintenence and cleaning) give no indication that this shotgun was ever of high quality. Sorry, but it is a wall hanger at best in MHO.
