Rocketman is there a multiplier factor for different guages?
If so, using a 12 ga as base line what would 20,16,10 and 8
ga mutipliers be?
Thanks

While Rocketman may have a different take on this, I've used his scale in general and find it to be 90% accurate, a great rule of thumb.

For me, this is my own math:

12 gauge = Par value
10 gauge = 70% of par
16 gauge = 150% of par
20 gauge = 150% to 200% of par
28 gauge = 200% to 400% of par (subject to make and being built on subgauge sized action)
.410 bore= 200% to 400% of par (subject to make and being built on subgauge sized action)
24 gauge = Par value (same value as a 12 bore)

8 gauge = Must be calculated independently on a case by case basis.

4 gauge = same scenario as 8 gauge.

I'd agree with Rookhawk's scale. Mine is basically the same. He is a bit more extensive than I've been, to his considerable credit. Nice work, Rookhawk!!!
