Ferlib went through two incarnations. At first, they were owned and almost entirely staffed by one man Libero Ferraglio (hence, FERLIB). He made guns by hand, but used the typical outworker system in Gardone. Quality ranged from plain but well-made boxlocks to very fancy sidelocks. He specialized in ofering superb engraving. He had a tiny, dark shop, spoke little or no English and made one very welcome on visits. The gun I had made has beautiful wood, fine engraving with inlays by Bregoli and handles like a rapier.
After Libero died, the brand was taken over by Ivan Tanfoglio, whose interests span all types of guns. I have never played with one of them, so I can't comment on them, but I know he wanted to maintain the quality.
I can recommend the Libero guns pretty much without reservation, keeping in mind the range of models and prices he would produce.
