Come on George, green Muck boots can't be that bad if you pair them with red sweat pants? Or do you prefer blue sweats? Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Indeed they are mine, George. Good, bad or ugly, indeed they are mine. Captured this afternoon as mother cow has an issue with strutted teats. Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Well, I've got the best pair of Le Chameau boots you've never heard of.
A few years back, 5 or 6 I guess, my wife bought me a pair of Le Cameau boots as a Christmas present. They're all leather, dark brown, part smooth and part nubuck, insulated. Vibram lug soles.
They're absolutely fantastic. I wade through swamps and stay dry, clamber over timber and rocks, bust through viney prickly tangly grouse cover, walk through fields - you name it.
I guess you could say they're kind of on the idea of those Irish boots DuBarry. But I've NEVER and I mean NEVER seen them advertised ANYwhere.
My wife got them from Sierra Trading Post, that discount outdoor gear operation that will mail you 8 catalogs a week once you're on their list.
My guess used to be that they were originally designed to compete with those Dubarrys, but for whatever reason got pulled back from production and Le Chameau never marketed them. Maybe had a good amount in overstock and sold 'em cheap to various outlets.
Anyway, I love 'em. I'd intended to get a pair of the traditional standard rubber & leather boots but kept putting it off for whatever reason. Who knows, maybe I'll still end up getting a pair someday, but i can't imagine the ones I've got crapping out on me anytime soon.

I've had a pair of Chameau Chasseurs for probably 12 or more years. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Don't think they can't take the rough stuff-some of the toughest rubber I've ever seen. I wear Lacrosse Grange boots during Mississippi turkey seasons and they are good boots, but just nowhere near what a Chameau is.
One thing I have done that really makes mine fit better and keep your feet warmer is putting a pair of Lacrosse's 6mm wool felt innersoles in them. But it has to be the 6mm, because the 9mm, which are more common, make the boot too tight. JR
Be strong, be of good courage. God bless America, long live the Republic.

I think those guys need to start picking up there feet ! I have never had those issues with barbed wire either. Not saying it can never happen, just not an issue for me when regarding wearing rubber boots. My main issue is finding ones that fit like a real boot, not something you have to wear two pair of socks in to keep your feet from moving around in, don't overheat me like neoprean does, and has some grip. Most of my experience with rubber boots comes from hunting pheasants in Iowa. Fields are relatively small, meaning you end up negotiating a lot of fences. Sooner or later, you're going to puncture them. That's why I've always gone with decent but not overly expensive rubber boots. La Crosse fits that niche.
