Leo,
Thanks much for the detail and history. Can you estimate the year in which Ivan Tanfoglio took over?

I have a Ferlib 20 gauge side-by-side with game scene engraving by Creative Arts---my gun was proofed in 1993---the gun's case label says "Libero Ferraglio" but the barrels are simply marked "Ferlib Gardone Italy". I corresponded with Ivano Tanfoglio in 2007. My gun is of a very high quality. The few Ferlib guns I've seen have all been of good quality and their "best" guns are of high quality but would be over shadowed by the likes of F Rizzini.
Hope this is helpful.

It seems Ferlib is alive and well producing 30 guns/year. Their English site is under construction but here is the Italian version.

www.ferlib.com

They have some incredible guns... even some nice hammer guns. Here's some eye candy.

Gee Chuck, I don't even know Spanish and I can interpret that!

FERLIB di Libero Ferraglio means Libero Ferraglio of the company Ferlib

Armiere italiano, Gardone VT (BS) , 1960/1980. means Italian Gunmaker, in Gardone Valle Trompia from 1960 to 1980. For some reason the dates were in English.

Tomorrow someone else has to look after you.

Best,

Mike

It musta been a mental block. I took one look at all those appostrophe's and figured I needed help. Like Texas, Spanish is a primary language around here. I should learned it better than just "no habla espanol". Thanks Mike.

Hello Chuck,

I thought the "dates in English" would suffice wink

According to their web page, they have been in business since 1947 and are now
-as was mentioned above- managed by Ivano Tanfoglio, who started as an apprentice
when he was 14 years old. They say they were the first, in the 1960's to start making
boxlocks ("Anson doubles") as Fine Guns.

Nice product line up.

If you go to the Ferlib Italian language site, you can translate to English with Google or Bing.
