Canvasback, how deep of what do you intend to tread? I wear & have worn all types of boots & waders, with the now defunct Lewis Creek Kevlar boot being a favorite. When my supply of those ran out I turned to Hunter and I'm sure these can be found on the discount market. If your highwater mark is less that 9", I'd strongly suggest Gokey's Wetlander and if you require an aggressive sole, a Cordura version is available. If higher you could always order Russell's Joof(14") and pair it with the sole of your choice, being a bespoken set of brogues?? But the Gokey & Russells are lace-up boots. Besides finding the Hunter on the discount market, I would suggest the Muck boot, a favorite of my little Jägers. The adult version has a very flexible top and can be rolled down when the temps rise.
