I do not buy the "crooked" remark. The seller took an "as is" sale back, that defines not crooked to me. Internet sales are a gamble, I have gambled won and lost. As for not updating the description, it could be evil, but more likely is inefficient and or incompetent net skills
Simpson has a decent rep and they are after all dealing on the very low end of doubles.
I see every internet purchase as a gamble and as such gaining experience at the cost of shipping and FFL fees is actually cheap and useful learning.
