I have a friend (Al Sledge) who is looking for a Lyman 66 receiver sight (I think it is a 66) for a Marlin 39 rifle. Apparently that model or one similar to it has some sort of target knobs. He is a serious target shooter and is looking for a receiver sight that has reliably repeatable adjustments for shooting NRA Lever Action Silhouette.
If anyone has one of these for sale I would like to help him purchase is.

Contact Lyman for a 66MC sight. They still make them.

If he wants an older one, have him contact Ken Bean, a dealer who specializes in sights of various kinds. 717-755-9070. I'll bet Ken has one.

Yup, he bid on it and came up short.
He is considering buying one of the new ones and then making the knobs to replace the coinslot screws. However, I wonder if he will be happy with that compromise.

It might be worth a call or e-mail to Lyman. Redfield at least used to sell the knobs separately. If Lyman still makes any sight with target knobs they may be interchangeable or something you could easily modify to fit.
