Flat stones and or Float glass and good steel will put a smile on your face. laugh



I learned with oil & water stones but am pretty much a convert to the Scary sharp method.
I use a Veritas MK2 honing guide at times but mostly I just do it freehand.

A good -sharp- dovetail saw, traditional or Japanese and patience.
