In the 1923 cattalogue barrels were available in 26-, 28-, 30- or 32-inch lengths either plain or with a solid rib made integral with the barrel. Vent ribs were not offered on the No. 17. Chokes offered were full, modified and cylinder. Full and modified were standard in 28-inch barrels and cylinder in 26-inch. Other choke and barrel length combinations were to order. In bold letters under every grade was noted "NOT MADE LONGER THAN 32 INCHES." The little pocket catalogues of circa 1929 and 1932 don't mention ribs, extra barrels or higher grades, but do list the Model 17R with the 20-inch riot barrel. One would need the seperately printed price lists to know what was really being offered.
