Stan: I hope indeeD, that you are correct and pigeon shooting is not a thing of the past. But, you are talking to a guy who has his own pigeon ring and the Barnabee traps to go along. Pigeon shooting is GONE in my area and it is not illegal in the State of Indiana. Several years ago there were several shoots in my state and others close by. Now there is one small shoot. I get invitations from your Broxton Bridge and have even shot there. It is one of the few left and before long the courts will be involved there. We will see. I wish you and Broxton Bridge well in the fight, but I'm going to stick to my previous statement regarding the demise of pigeon shooting.

It is a boutique blood sport with a limited following, like African big game hunting and South American dove shooting. However, like those other sports, it is far from dead. By the way, the Pennsylvania State Championship is today and tomorrow. Try telling the participants up there that their sport is dead.

I have to apologize. I've been out of pigeon shooting for awhile and I just phoned one of the pigeon gurus, Bud Govert, who actually told me pigeon shooting is once again on the rise. Surprised me, but nevertheless, great news!
