Mike,
I haven't measured the barrel walls, but my gun dealer is very cautious with what he sells. I've put about 8 boxes of shells through it at the skeet ranges and it shoots nice.
Thanks
Sincerely, Patrick

I've gone to the WR website and typed in the serial number, which is how I got that it was made in 1919, and I've been reading up on the company and its guns - just trying to learn more about the various levels of guns and maybe more about my gun w/o spending the $95 for the gun history from WR.
Sincerely, Patrick

Patrick: Let me get this straight... you have the means to buy a Westley droplock, but somehow find yourself strapped to pay $95 for it's history?
In that case, you might consider selling it for a Parker. Their factory letters are only $50.
Or a Winchester Model 12. Their letters are cheaper still.

Kensal,
Good point - I should probably get the factory history. I'm just a cheap skate by nature. I love the gun and will hang on to it as long as I can.
I WOULD like to get a parker - and lefever and AH Fox, etc, but can't get them in Japan - I just happen to run across this one and got lucky.
Sincerely, Patrick

I thought the Westley Richards hand detachable lock guns were always considered a best gun?? I certainly would like to own one, esp in 20 bore! Fork out the C-note for the provenance on your gun is my humble opinion. It will be a plus if you decide to sell. And, you might want to invest in their new book. I would if I owned that gun.
Socialism is almost the worst.

Patrick: Buzz is more of a gentleman than I've been. I apologize for my cynical stance. The last Westely 20-bore I owned was originally ordered by Lord Alfred Douglas, son of the Marqee of Queensbury. Often the history of the gun is more fun than the gun itself. Almost.
