I'm in the middle of a Beretta S56E project and the wood is off for shaping/finish and I'm trying to decide if I want choke tubes or just open the barrels to .005/.015 and go with it. The bores are .625 and .627 which if my gauges are exact might make the top barrel a little too open for choke tubes. the current length of the choke is quite long so it might be doable as at 2" deep they both under .620.
Anyway...What is the advantage of the longer choke tubes that Briley uses vs the shorter thin wall True-choke like Mike Orlen uses. Obviously the price difference is substantial and I'm not sure I can convince myself the birds will know the difference.
