Does anyone have the Remington-Nagant patent in close proximity for the following Victor Collette Liege peddled example? It is purported to have Belgian marks of couse. I've seen something similar but can't bring it to mind. Is this the Remington we all fancy? Kind Regards, Raimey rse

I've seen double barrel pistols and one "volley gun" marked like this but never a double shotgun. Looks like a viable proposition to me. Strong, simple....interesting.

Gustav Kersten had something akin to it. So is it some Remington rolling block variant? Kind Regards, Raimey rse

Bless you Peter, a little later than I would have guessed.. So ole Leon hold's the patent. I assume there's some Remington component in there also?
Kind Regards,

Mike A There is a virtually identical double barrel shotgun with rolling block action in H.M.Qeen Elizabeth,s collection at Sandringham. This shotgun is by Husqvarna Wafenfabrik. The gun is pictured in The British Shotgun Vol 2, by Davd Baker and I.M.Crudgington,page 163. A similar gun was until recently held in the collection of a deceased Canadian friend .

Interesting, Roy. It would make sense that Husqvarna tried that action: they tried rolling blocks for everything else. Wonder why this didn't catch on? Seems like a practical extension of a commonly-accepted, commercially viable action.
Would there be something about it that made it hard or expensive to manufacture? Or is it perhaps non-takedown?

It didn't catch on because it was a piece of junk design.

I posted a question on the Rifle forum: http://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=265002#Post265002I know that Nagant modified at least one Remington patent. Back then, you did not have to acknowledge previous patents by others as you do today. Mike, I would think the issue is one of back pressure. It appears to be more of a falling block. Pete
