It seems to me that in many ways Buhmiller was ahead of his time in his experimentation with monolithic solids and "dished nosed" solids, both of which are now popular. Likewise with his wildcats. He predated the 460 Weatherby with his 458-378 and although I haven't looked at exact cartridge dimensions, it appears that he was using something very similar to the 458 Lott and 470 Capstick before they were known by their current names.
