John, you are so right about the miracle of being able to share knowlege around the world. I have never seen the last variation you pictured. Fun gun. I am often in awe, I guess, of the French inventor, Pauly. Around a half century before the guns we have shown, circa 1812, he developed a centerfire cartridge gun in both rifle and shotgun. Very high quality guns. These guns, too, used a cocking lever for internal hammers to fire the centerfire, breechloaded, cartridge. Here're a couple of views of two different Pauly guns.
