Has anyone used Show-Me recently? I am just getting ready to ship off a Nitro Lefever to them for restocking. I haven't had any work done by them in a long time and just thought I'd ask. When I used them before, they were easy to deal with and reasonably priced. Thanks. Rich

About a year-and-a-half ago, Mr. Gemes (Show-Me Gunstocks) created a custom stock for my wife's 28-gauge Citori skeet gun, from a fine piece of Claro, selected from blanks for sale by a third party. That third party also acted as fitter and supplied Show-Me with the necessary configuration and dimensions. The final product met the specs exactly and was very nicely done. I would not hesitate to consider Mr. Gemes for another stocking project.

I've dealt with Mr.Gemes several times and would like to comment. Besides doing excellent work in the agreed timeframe, he's notable for something else ... his business ethic.
I once stocked a SxS with exhibition English and a splinter forend. After awhile, I thought I'd like a semi-beavertail. There's not much wood in a splinter to give an idea of the color and figure, so I sent the butt stock to Mr. Gemes and asked that he make me a semi-inlet beavertail to match. After awhile, he informed me that the butt had gotten scratched while in his shop and he offered to repair it if I wanted him to. Since I did my own finishing I said I'd take care of it. Shortly, I got everything back...my butt stock with a minor scratch, a gorgeous matching forend worth a couple hundred bucks, and an invoice that said "no charge."
That spoke volumes about Mr.Gemes' integrity. His offer was over the top. I insisted on paying him for the wood and accepted his free labor as a gesture of good will. Stuff happens. When you find a business that deals with "stuff" in this fashion, you go back.

Cabela's had them restock a Greener for me, which broke at the wrist. (Cabela's picked up the tab.) Show-Me got me back up and running quite quickly, and they did a very nice job of matching the forend wood.
