I would like to think that George H. Farriss was compensated for the design or like many, many other designers, he took advantage of the skill and value of the mechanics in Liege and had Auguste Francotte built it. And it may be that Auguste Francotte permeated every facet of gunmaking and was the go-to concern for executing all your design whims/needs.
