Thank you for your assistance. I really like my Tula and am working to correct damage from past owners. The gun is very sturdily built, shoots very well, and I expect it to be an excellent field gun. I sent the gun to a gunsmith for modifications, when I get it back in my possession, I'll post photos of the proof marks.
I also recently purchased a Russian, Mosin M91/30 built in 1937 at the Izhevsk arsenal. For a mass produced military rifle it certainly is accurate! I'm very pleased with it.
