The late guns like the one listed are miserable guns and don't create any interest. The ones that are a bit more interesting are the walnut stocked, cut checkered guns of the early days. My favorite is my "Ranger", made for Montgomery Ward, great wood, hand checkered, beautiful case color, and butter smooth action. The actions on the late guns are not butter smooth by a mile. I would rather have an early high condition Stevens with real uncheckered walnut than the monstrousity in the gunbroker ad. $325.00.
