actually i wanted to know about lengthening the chambers to shoot the dixie slugs tri ball loads for hogs they also have a very good slug load and they are in 3 inch length No need to be hateful im just looking for information.

A504: I think what people here are trying to tell you is it may not be a good idea to do this with a nice gun like a Merkel. First of all, the gun will no longer be 'in proof' if you alter the barrels as such. It may well be safe, but you won't know for sure without reproof. If it were up to me, I would leave the Merkel as is and get something else for the hogs.
