Thank you Gents, the only name I find is Felag made in Belgium. It is a 16 ga.bores are very clean measure .650 right .653 left. I am sure it is a boxlock with sideplates. Did makers do a fake damascus finish?
Yes some did do faux damascus, but this gun is the real thing. Dupont was making damascus from the late 1890's. First as a barrelsmith, then as a foreman in Henri Pieper's Brazil works barrel shop. He wanted to purchase the shop after Henri died, but could not raise the capital, so his operation was rather small at first. After WWI he opened a much larger shop and was just about the last commercial maker of damascus in Belgium. After the German occupation of WWII, his business never really recovered. That was the end of commerically produced damascus in Belgium.
So, your gun has some historic value in that regard. It is nice example of a high end Belgian field gun. Worth more than some have stated here.
Hopefully some one here will recognize Felag.
