Or to "put it harshly" might even work better. We sure gets our money's worth here, don't we? Of course, it has to be here, because as you so kindly pointed out in a previous posting, I am Banned from posting on the LCSCA Forum- them "insider tradin' boys" have that security system covering their net set up as tightly as a Brahma bull's bunghole during summertime fly season. Ain't no way in Hades even a sly ol' fox could get into Dat ol' "Grapevine locale", is there?

And when I refer to insider, or perhaps- insidious, trading might be better, I am referring to one of their BOD Honchos- Herr Vogel- who scammed the rest of the herd out of a 'shot" at 13 premium "NIB" high grade Smith guns made under the Marlin era in the late 1940's- stashed away and didn't come to light until a few years ago, after the Remington take-over and ownership of Marlin= Old Herr Vogel got the first and ONLY crack at this superb collection- the rest of the membership, even their fat-boy "Alms-man from Alabama" never knew until they were safely stashed away in his home in, if I have the co-ordinates correctly here- a general translation gives us aprox this: "Man who is looking out at a herd of Jersey cows"

Boy- talk about your "animal farm" op. code- "All animals are equal, but some (and birds are animals, are they not??) are more equal than others"" Makes old Bernie Maddox's SOP look like chump change--

No doubt you will question the veracity of this remark I just made, and well you should. I admire any man who is loyal and stands up for a friend or a organization-- I got this intel from Herr Vogel's good friend whom I met at a Michigan side-by-side shoot fest- he hails from little ol' Waters, MI and likes to shoot clays with a 12 gauge Winchester M23 with Briley tubes--

Yessireee- them lads over on the "Loose Change Scalped Convincingly Already" Gruppen run a tight ship-- damn near bulletproof, water proof, 86 proof--RWTF

The problem with ascribing error here, when it comes to published copy, is that it is not always the author's fault. As pointed out above, in the old days, text did not go straight from the author's pen (or typewriter) to the published page--neither in the newspaper, magazine, nor book business--nor does it go directly from the author's computer to the printed page today. And in my experience, having written hundreds of magazine articles, it's rare when the magazine returns the edited version to the author for a final look prior to publication. An unnecessary step in most cases, but one which would be relatively simple, in the age of computers and email.

Catching minor errors can become very much a "gotcha" game, and always ascribing them to the author can be a case of unwarranted attribution.

Lemme see here...
Seems the horse's arse community is spending lots of time pickin apart the writing of the few fellas who go out of their way to sit down, write some stuff, send it into DGJ, wait for months to get paid only a fraction of the minimum wage for the time spent, and risk abuse by the idiots of this site.

After all, all they gotta do is sit infront of their PCs all day and gripe to a virtual world.

That about got it? Well, you guys are certainly inspirin these fellas to write more!

Maybe literary giants like Foxy, Hebbes, and the rest can give it a go for DGJ... then some horse's arse can destroy their work on a internet public forum!

What fun !!

I can hardly wait to read their flawless stuff. NOT !!

"Boy- talk about your "animal farm" op. code- "All animals are equal, but some (and birds are animals, are they not??) are more equal than others"" Makes old Bernie Maddox's SOP look like chump change--"

Do you by chance mean Bernie Madoff there, RTWF?

I hope not because that would be a FUBAR against the FUBARIST, and since this forum is most likely read by more than the DGJ, it would be a national, and international FUBAR.

Can't wait to hear from Runs.

No- I meant Bernie Maddox- a boyhood pal from my youth growing up in the Queen City-- old Bernie (really Bernard, with proper homage to the great Bernard Damascus barrels- this is, after all, a shotgunner's forum. n'ces pas???

Old Bernie was a dead-ringer for the infamous Alfred E. Neumann, the "What-Me Worry?" cover boy for MAD magazine-- whenever old Bernie pulled a fast one over on us- and he was a slick as snot on a Tiffany glass doorknob- he would cackle and quote Eric Blair- aka- George Orwell-'s classic "roman a clef" from Animal farm--

I would NEVER quote or even give a slapshot mention of that Goniff- Bernie Madoff here- or elsewhere-- too many hard working decent folks lost their entire life savings to his greedy Ponzi scheme. Some have said that even every evil person has at least one good quality- ie: Hitler loved dogs- etc. But I defy anyone to find one for this Madoff "Struz"__!!

Not a *&^%()* thing. I almost wish I didn't have my Eagle Eyes, nor my steel trap like mindset and a deep respect for history- in that the sinking of the Lusitania was indeed, a lynchpin that would later lead us, thanks to weak-kneeded Woodie Wilson and his Uber-*&^%$ wife who ran 1600 PA Ave. years before Suffrage was ended for the Femmes-- So, being a avid History buff, I spotted the typo and mentioned it here, where, just like our spirited discussions about the War of Nawthern Aggression, we are allowed to learn new things or re-examine under history's microscope-past events- and maybe learn- maybe not--

I shoulda learned from John Belushi- in my favorite of all his spoof movies- "Animal House" and he gets a full head of steam up about the "Double Secret Probation- shafting imposed on Delta House by evil Dean Wormer- his "pep speech" with the great line- "And when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor--" etc--
