9.3x72r is made by Sellier & Bellott. Considerably weaker than 9.3x74r.
Countries in Africa that have a rule of "nothing less than .375" often have a specific and sole exception for 9.3x74r because it has more power than ballistically apparent and because it has been the favored round down there for more than 50 years. (e.g. Namibia, etc.)
This is all in the context of use on large, dangerous game, Elephant and Rhino excluded. Thank you for pointing out the S&B availability - I never thought to check them since the 12th ed of "Cartridges of the World" list it as an obsolete round. I've seen some very nice guild drillings chambered for this round and commercial cartridge availability makes them more appealing. The 9.3x74R is well over a hundred years old and is making a nice comeback.

Fox is correct. It is correctly pronounced "dry" drei. Sie hässliche Amerikaner!

That's German pronounciation. Like "schwien" and "schule". In English, it's drill-ing. Not to belittle the German language, it just doesn't translate to English. I had a Mercedes once that had "fhart" for "start." No thanks.

Danke, mein einmal fruend.
"The field is the touchstone of the man"..

Pod, that was a great find. I like English guns more so than Germanic guns, but I would have pounced on that deal.
