The reason for my beef with him was that a while back someone posted about how the pheasant population has declined and that South Dakota always held it's own. The measured success as one million pheasants harvested in the season. I posted back that in the early 70's, Pennsylvania killed over a million pheasants and was more than South Dakota and a few other states as well. It made the Top 10 in pheasant harvest.


David, I sure remember those days in Pennsylvania. I don't know what South Dakota or other states were like back then, but I'll never forget putting up flocks of pheasants and the times I had my daily limit within minutes of starting. Pretty sad what we have today, and sadder still to hear the great Penna. Game Commissions' excuses for why it's so bad. Pheasants, other than a few stocked birds, have gotten as scarce as California condors in the western part of the commonwealth. Deer management has gotten very ugly too. I personally believe that the Penna. Game Commission board of directors has been hijacked by anti-hunters. Real wildlife managers couldn't do things this bad if they tried.
