Amen to that, Suh. Ed Good knows as much about American History as the Pope knows about fornication (thanks to my favorite 20th Century American general- George Smith Patton Jr.) General Lee needed to re-supply his troops, and there was a Union shoe factory in Cashville near Gettysburg- Lee also had hoped that by striking a telling blow in the North, and Gettysburgh was the first battle in the War of Northern Aggression that took place above the mason-Dixon line, the Union with their "revolving door Generals, few of whom were West Pointers, and even one was commissioned a brigader general as a pay-off for a political favor and had NO military experience whatsoever- and his troops bled big time at Gettysburg for that-- Lee strung his lines in their move North through Maryland in PA- and his "LRRP" recon unit- the General J.E.B. Stuart calvary, was out of communication all the time- a major mistake, along with Ewell's reticence to follow the principles of Frederick The Great-- "Audace, audace, toujours audace"--

I grew up in the Queen City, and we were a whole hella of a lot more Dixie than Yankee-I may live in a Northern State, but my heart will always be with Dixie-- Damn War between The States (there wasn't anything Civil about it) like so many other major FUBARS in our Country's history- brought about by some damn meddling busybody woman and her stupid book-- There was slavery in the North at that time- indentured servants, the miners and RR workers who never got out of debt to the Company owned and run store--then Miss Julia Ward Howe chimed in- with her "terrible Swiss sword"-- the only good thing she ever did for America was to give writer John Steinbeck- albiet in the next Century- a great title for his dust bowling novel--

To slur the name of the great General Lee as Ed did with his half-assed remark about Gettysburg--I'll challenge this idiot torch-bearing shotgun destroyed to a duel- Pistols for two, Coffee for One- I'll take my Irish style, thankee- a shot of Bushmills will do just about right!!
