nit picking about weather the civil war was a civil war or not is like a lot of posts on this forum...much to do about nothing...before this country was two countries for a brief four years, did you not know that is was one country from about 1781 until 1861?
No, ed, you're wrong as wrong can be. It most certainly is NOT 'much ado about nothing". What it is, is striving to preserve an accurate history and prevent future generations of Americans from learning a faulty account of the history of this great country, and the history of those two separate nations, one of which was the Confederate States of America.
I helped recharter the Brig. Gen. John C. Carter SCV camp many years ago for the sole reason I just stated. Politically correct history is not history at all, and the accounts of the WBTS that are being foisted upon unknowing school-children, and an uninterested and uninformed public need to be exposed for exactly what they are, lies. Lies that are told to make people feel better about themselves.
Much ado about nothing ? Hardly. My ancestors who died for the cause, and their families who lost them to it, would not have thought so, either.
For someone who, at times seems to be true student of history, you sure got that one wrong.
