According to some things I have read about both men (to follow), a young George S. Patton, Jr. used to sit at the feet of an aged, one-eyed (lost to the kick of a mule) John Singleton Mosby, a.k.a. the Grey Ghost and listend to his exploits and tactics. It was said by George S. Patton III that his father learned some of his armor tactics from Mosby. Not disputing his adoption of Forrest's strategies mind you, just adding a bit more!!!
