Don't know why it says Simson but will ponder a bit. But it is a Austrian finished/retailed double either sourced in the white from or finished in Ferlach or Bohemia(Prague/Weipert) in 1925 and possibly reproofed at the Brno facility in 1958. Any full images of the water table marks?

The locks and especially the hammers could hardly be more Ferlach in their form.

Looks like a Czech lion on the flat of the right barrel.
Interesting there are no German date marks that I can see, especially on a Simson. Maybe made for the Czech market?

Actually there's a Bohemian Lion on both flats and the right one will have a either a 1 or 2 on the breastplate and I suspect it is the Weipert proofhouse. As far as I can tell it is devoid of any German marks.

As I see it, it was made and originaly proofed in Ferlach in 1925 and then reproofed in Czechoslovakia in 1956, probably when it was rechambered to 20/70 (from 20/65).

Thanks everyone. I have never seen a Simson hammer gun, this explains a lot as it looks like it was not made by Simson but sourced by them from Ferlach. Picture of another marking on the rib...
