I have been trying to remove the nipples on an old SxS. I have tried soaking them in desiel and all they do is twist when I put a wrench on them. I wanted to avoid heat if possible as it makes me nervouse on soldered barrels. Any ideas? Thanks!

Heat helps, alot. Obtain some type of trough (a window flower box with the drain holes sealed). Lay the barrels on edge so that the rib is submerged in the water, then heat the nipple a bit, squirt some penetrating oil on it and heat it some more, squirt on a little more penetrating oil and then try to remove it. This has always worked for me, though I forego the water bath and am just careful not to overheat it (it doesn't take a huge amount of heat to get good results).
