There are so many that I would like to thank but they are gone. It would be nice to have a site for them. Great idea. Frank A very good reminder to thank them while they are here. When they're gone it's too late. Maybe, "The Last Peg". SRH

I LOVE Kipling, ever since a boy.
I dearly recall anout 7 years ago, after I posted the death of my dear Brit, a fellow member(s) added two Kipling poems to the thread, "Why a Dog" was one, can't remember the second. They were printed at the time and are somewhere around this packrat's house.
Anyway, it was a dear thing to do and I appreciated it.
Sorry to drift from the OT, which is, of course, a wonderful idea.
Just one more thing which makes this site and the folks on it so special.

Dave, you must have in mind an arbiter to choose those worthy in the pantheon of the greats, eh? Joe's idea is a good one. It's a responsibility of citizenship and camaraderie to honour, pay tribute, to cite accomplishments and the living to a high standard of human values. Most of us who've been here for a while know who they are. Little could improve on sentiments expressed at time of their deaths. It's no easy task to choose, marking the particular significance of their passing, so that commemoration is a special place and not another obituary column.

Why not put all passing members in? Saves the "voting" or "culling". Make a rule that posts be kept civil and respectful, anyone could post pics and memories about the person. We might find that some of our members were much more than we see here.
