I'm fortunate enough to have an unmatched pair of Bonehills owned by two Ohio farmboys in the 1880s-90s, my grandfather and his brother. They are 12 bore sidelock hammer guns with "laminated steel" barrels, now well worn and shot loose, with only one original hammer between them -- the other three are vintage replacements. My granddad was short and stocky; his gun has 30" barrels. Uncle Dan was tall and lean; his gun has 32" barrels and more drop to the stock, so perhaps they were special orders. Their top ribs have the London address and no Winchester marks, but I assume they were odered through some Winchester distributor in Cincinnati. There's no doubt that both guns put a lot of game on the family tables. I've never shot them, but as a boy during WWII I walked behind my Dad as he took a few rabbits in cornfields, and I'm sure he used smokeless game loads from the local hardware store.
