Save it for spring....it would make for beautiful yard art as a tomato stake.

You haven't shot any turkeys lately, have you, jOe? I sympathise: I know the crabby feeling one gets from being skunked - the Red Gods have been frowning at me and handing me the horse collar lately. I'm trying to figure out what I've done that's irritated them, so I can get back on their good side before the seasons close around here.

Back On-topic.

When I posted my prior comment on the thread, about getting the gun checked out, etc., I was operating under the belief the owner wanted it for a shooter. If it's exclusively as a wall-hanger, a little work on the stock and a good cleaning will probably be enough. Hang it so the non-matching hammer is against the wall and that will be that.

I've gone back and looked at the pictures again - what do some of you see so wrong with this gun? A crack in the stock that can be repaired and a miss matched hammer and it's ready for the scrap pile ? It seems a lot of you are experts without holding the gun in your hands to give it a proper evaluation. I came on this forum a couple of years ago and people were POLITE - you could ask a question and get polite answer. Now it seems like the " Obama gang" has taken over. It's sad. Paul

Can you not see the original low quality of this gun through all it's cracks and scuffs ?

In pristine unfired absolute mint condition it wouldn't fetch $1500.00 to $2000.00.

Because you can fix the stock for about $15 for some acra-glas and shoot it. Does a gun have to cost big money to enjoy it ? There's a lot of American guns - Parkers, Remingtons, L.C Smiths, and so on that cost less than a grand that one can enjoy shooting. The fun is shooting the old SxS's - they don't all have to look perfect. And for some of us the joy is fixing them, then shooting em. Paul

Not looking to sell, it'll be a novelty keeper/wall hanger that I plan pass on to my son one day.

Thank you kindly!

I traded a $350 rifle for it, so I don't "think" that I lost on the deal...

Or did I? confused

Just curious as to the real value so that I know what sort of rider policy to have it insured for. How can I accurately establish this value as well? Or do I have to send it out to get it appraised?

The only "jOy" I see is in his hope that he hit the mother load smirk

Just to help spread the "jOy" I'll start the bidding at $25 bucks...
