I don't know how familiar you are with shotgunning, but with a shotgun, proper fit is essential. I've pretty much given up purchasing older American built shotguns because nearly all had far to much drop at the heal for accurate shooting. On the other hand, most British and Continental guns were built with fairly modern stock dimensions and most people can shoot them quite well with few "adjustments" to their shooting style.
Looks to me like you may be halfways there to having a gun that you can actually hit what you shoot at with.
