I'll guarantee you couldn't get this good a wood from Purdey looks like a good job fitting.
Where did you find the wood and what is it ?

Thanks guys, tbh the barrels have been a complete nightmare...they got dented in transit to me. So I had to have that taken out...striking up has been a nightmare too...the locks are dirty as hell and she just hasn't been looked after. Thankfully she is in working order. I hope I can do her justice on the rest of the process!
The wood is Turkish walnut believe it or not. My stocker is a very well known ex Churchills and Westley bloke, really really nice guy, super dry humour and I think one of the best in the land.
I'll post pics as she progresses!

Hey, Tony. The checkering caught my eye. Have Brit stockers gone to pointed-up checkering as opposed to flat-top? I have been lead to believe this gun would have originally had flat-top. Is that , in your opinion correct? Or, is flat-top checkering just a matter of a little wear?
