The rubber was sufficiently hard to provide no flex and could be properly checkered on the butt as well.

Does anyone know of a competent gunsmith in the States that can provide similar stock extensions where a greater than 1.5" increase in length is required? I've seen plenty of wood extensions and unless meticulously stained, painted and finished to blend with the original wood, they tend to look pretty terrible.
