Who in the US can do a leather covered pad with a silvers pad under it?

The gun has a spade point at the end of comb so I need it finished by a competent guy.

Here's a link to what I need: (bottom picture)

Thanks!

The "spade" is called a spur or Widow's Peak. And the guy you really need is Trevallion. If not him, Hugh Lomas is very good. If not Hugh, call Kirk Merrington. He's got a British stocker who can handle it.

The best leather pads I've seen done here in the U.S. are from the shop of James Flynn.

My 1878 hammer gun has a Flynn/Hodgins (combined effort) leather covered pad installed on it. The work is impeccable. The widows peak is also referred to by some gunsmiths as a "Teet" or "Nub". If you want the pad with the nub, you will more than likely have to use a S.W. Silvers pad. Some imaginitive gunsmiths can actually make a nub out of left over plastic material and add and blend them on the the base of the pad, sometimes this looks good, sometimes you can see the seam and it looks awful. Choice is yours.

I just had Dennis Smith, aka "the Stock Doctor" put on a pad for me in July. Told me it would be about a 30 day turnaround time, and he shipped it exactly on the 30th day after he received it. Work was perfect, and very reasonably priced to boot. And Dennis is a true gentleman. I can't recommend Dennis highly enough.

Dewey Vicknair at Vicknair Restorations does an excellent job on leather covered pads. He did the one when he restored the Admiral Robert Peary Grade 5 L.C. Smith.

Oh my, but that is a beautiful pad. I never would have thought it would be possible to do that widows peak so neatly!

Once I get on the Vicknair website, things just don't work very well. Do other posters suffer the same problems? I would like for Dewey to be aware of these problems.

I agree, the Widow's peak looks perfect. Another possibility is Ken Eversull in LA. His shop did one for me without a WP and it is very nice. Ken told me he does leather pads for Holland and Holland here in the United States.
