Sorry, deer season has kept from checking in on the forum...no, the Winchester 21 Trap is a 12 gauge with 30" mod & full barrels. Many military officers who were stationed in Japan had guns engraved there. This is why I suspect the engraving is from a Japanese engraver. The scroll looks very much like the scroll I've seen on some high grade Miroku guns. I would just like to know some history on the gun.

Thanks GaryW for the response............Yes, as we returned from Viet Nam many pilots bought and had guns engraved/inlayed in Japan, including me.....the guns were well priced back then on base and the engraving was available everywhere near the air stations and bases and pretty good....... We flew the aircraft off the carriers about 100 miles out direct to Atsugi Naval Air Station, Japan.... prior to the carriers entering Yokosuka Naval Base.........Both these bases had great Navy Exchange Stores and in those days they sold guns and everything else..........great how the world used to be........ Best,
Doug

I knew it and I'm glad that I have always shown him (RWTF) now Mr. Morin the respect he has earned with his 70 years young and so richly deserves.
