Thankyou all for the nice complements on the gun. In terms of the lock maker I am not sure. I removed the main spring from one lock thinking a name could be there...but it was not. The only markings I can find on either lock is the serial number. The entire gun and locks are 'to be taken to pieces' for a high quality cleaning as the old girl, esp the triggers were a little gummed up. Maybe when the locks are taken apart I will find a makers name?? At first I thought the stock may be a replacement but it appears to be the original. The wood to metal of lock fit is perfect. The stock is really pretty..something that one would expect on a Boss! Take care, Buzz

Buzz, Locks appear to me to be the same. Mine are marked E. Chilton which I believe to be Edwin Chilton: http://www.wolverhampton-gunlocks.fslife.co.uk/

Buzz;
Locks are indeed Chilton's and very nicely preserved. Unusually excellent condition for a gun of that vintage.

Thanks for the info on the Chilton locks guys. Tim, your Hussey appears to be in exceptionally fine condition with high percentage case colors. Thanks for letting us see a picture of her. Buzz

I have a Lang & Hussey, imperial ejector serial 13002. Original case and a maker's letter indicating it was a hurried production best gun sans engraving (to save time) for grouse season by Mr. A. Adams, esq. back in 1897.
I love the gun but it doesn't fit me. My case and shot card/labels are just like the ones shown.
Hussey made great guns, or should I say Rogers, Webley, Osborne and Scott made awesome guns sold under both Lang and Hussey's names.

You might be able to have the stock bent to help you with fit. Mine is being bent up a little right now. Old Frenc walnut usually bends easily and is very amenable to that process.
