Jake, the gun sounds like an NID, serial over 425,000? IMHO they are as good as a Sterlingworth or an LC Smith Fields (I will get heat about that statement). The chokes are marked on the barrel flats of these guns, 4=full. I am always cautious about 26" guns. My thought is that 800 is a good buy if it is as you described, but if you can get it for less so much better. The short stock can be replaced or a slip on pad used to get a decent pull.
